This was the game we REALLY wanted to win! With Tom Brady coming into Las Vegas, the Raiders certainly wanted to make a statement to the NFL. Unfortunately, the statement was: the game should have been postponed! The game was originally meant to be the Sunday night showcase on NBC but it got moved to 1.05 p.m. PT due to concerns that coronavirus issues might delay it completely. Thankfully that didn’t happen, and we were ready to party.
Instead, Tom Brady used plenty of his offensive weapons in their rout of the Raiders at an empty Allegiant Stadium. But you know what wasn’t empty? BJ’s Brewhouse, the place we all gathered to watch the game.
Brady passed for 369 yards with four touchdowns and had his highest-rated passer game of the season, while demonstrating a certain comfort level in the Bucs offense. He was never sacked. And even though we felt like sacking the TV at times watching the game, OUR comfort level stayed positive as it’s always fun to drink some really great beers – win or lose.
The Raiders (3-3) really could have used a postponement or just called in sick, given the dismal performance. But then again, we all had a good time so there’s that.
